🌱  Community Garden, was an opportunity for youth to plant seeds of leadership, intercultural dialogue, and social responsibility.

These seeds, when planted and cared for, grow into the development of a sustainable community 🌿

This program was all about empowering young changemakers to lead with confidence, connect across cultures, and make a difference.

leadership abilities,

encourage

intercultural dialogue,

and foster a sense of

social responsibility

to support sustainable community development.

Objectives

 

  1. Promote social consciousness and foster qualities and values that improve community involvement;

  2. Encourage community members to take responsibility for their social needs and enhance active citizenship skills;

  3. Gain skills to identify community needs through problem-solving, sharing, and collaboration techniques;

  4. Master project planning skills to address community needs and implement youth ideas, aligning with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals;

  5. Develop as a leader and citizen through new experiences and skill acquisition.

The primary goal of the preparatory visit was to all project partners, youth workers, and youth in the preparation process for the youth exchange (YE). During the visit, we thoroughly discussed arrangements, project and organizational matters, dissemination strategies non-formal education methods, and preparations leading up to the YE. This collaborative approach was essential for the success of our project.

The youth exchange began with team-building and ice-breaking activities on the first day. These fun exercises helped participants connect, foster friendships, and create an inclusive atmosphere.

Participants explored the enchanting city of Mdina in mixed nationality groups, working together to solve riddles and finish tasks as a team.

Field Trip & Video Making

The field trip to the Ta Qali farmers market offered a valuable experience on sustainability and entrepreneurship. Participants engaged in a video-making workshop, interviewing local farmers about their practices. This the importance of sustainable farming local produce, fostering a deeper understanding of agriculture's role in the community.

During the exchange, participants engaged in a world café on sustainable living. They shared ideas on eco-friendly practices and discussed ways to reduce waste and conserve resources.

Sustainable Cooking

Participants were divided into country groups to discuss sustainable cooking techniques that utilize locally grown ingredients, minimize carbon footprint, and focus on in-season produce.

Vision Boards

Participants created vision boards centered on personal growth and motivation. They brought their dreams to life with images and words that resonated with their goals. The was filled with creativity and positivity, fostering community support. This empowering encouraged everyone to visualize their future and motivated.

Country Group Activities

participants from various country groups showcased their talents by leading engaging activities. Each group brought a unique cultural perspective, fostering collaboration and understanding among all attendees. The diverse range of workshops and discussions not only enriched the experience but also strengthened the bonds between participants. This project highlight exemplifies the power of youth engagement in promoting active citizenship.
