Mental health plays an important role in the life of every person. A mentally healthy person works more productively, as well as is more able to contribute to their surroundings. Hence, it is clear that mental health issues can lead to serious problems & wasted human potential.

The core goal of the training course is to increase

knowledge about mental health between the youth

workers, youngsters, and the public overall.

OBJECTIVES:

​

1) Raising awareness about the existing mental health situation;

​

2) Reducing prejudices towards mentally ill;

​

3) Defining what mental health is and why it’s important;

​

4) Creating means to advice youth how to live a healthier lifestyle and cope with the surrounding stress.

The main objective of the preparatory visit is to involve all the project partners, youth workers, and youth in the preparation.

Reflective Writing & Gratitude

Practising various reflective writing methods and the positive impact it has on reducing stress and improving one's life through self-reflections. Also, the significance of practicing gratitude in our daily routine and ways to do it.

Engaging in open discussions in small groups where they could share their personal experiences and challenges related to mental health, as well as discuss coping techniques that have proven effective.

Reflecting with Clay

Reflecting on our lives and exploring ways to improve our mental health through clay work. Dividing the piece of clay into 3 parts and creating objects related to their past, present, and future and reflecting on it.

Zumba

The energetic dance movements release endorphins, which naturally improve mood and reduce stress. The social aspect of the classes fosters connections and combats feelings of loneliness, supporting emotional well-being.

Art as a therapy

Participants were invited to find a person with whom they spoke the least during this project and together reflect and create "a beautiful mind," combining their perspectives. They made it using paint and natural materials found in the garden. The aim of this activity was to show how creating art helps people reflect, relax, connect, and reduce stress.

Green Relaxation

Together with a guest speaker and an expert in growing plants, we participated in the activity where we learned and discussed nature's impact on our mental well-being. Participants learned tips and tricks on how to take care of their plants at home. Moreover, participants had a chance to try something new by creating plant hangers for their plants at home.

Mindful Hike Golden Bay

Hiking in nature reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels, promoting a sense of calm and relaxation. Spending time outdoors increases mindfulness and mental clarity, helping to reduce overthinking and improve focus.

It fosters understanding and respect for different cultures, reducing stereotypes and promoting inclusivity. Also, it makes learning fun and memorable, creating lasting positive impressions that deepen participants’ intercultural awareness.
